Daffodils are in season!

“I can think of no better reason
To grow and give plenty of daffodils.
They grow with hope and regard,
Becoming the star of the show now
That the snowdrops have retired and gone.

And should you be seeking them,
In the thousands you’ve been promised,
You need not venture far;
They grow almost anywhere,
Stretching in a never-ending line.

They need no care, and come back year after year—
A certainty, that’s for sure.

Here and there, at Amwell Cottage,
Hatfield House, and Walkern Hall,
There they are, a stunning display of daffodils,
Tossing their heads in a slight dance.
Looking forward to your visit,
And filling your heart with pleasure.

And if you do not see me there,
Please pass on my regards,
For if I shan’t make it this year,
I know I shall next year”.
