A year with my camera
Before I say another word I must immediately credit the work of Emma Davies who runs a free e-mail workshop on mastering photography. Of course Emma's year started in January but I was quickly to come on board to appreciate her encouragement and step by step approach to the technical and creative aspect of this art! My journey coincided with One Day 12 Pictures. The sun was out on March 4th. It was a busy day starting with a Litter Pick near to my home in St Albans. I then took the train to London and joined tens of thousands of people on the NHS Demo. "Who's NHS?" "Our NHS" "Where were you born?" "In the NHS!". I felt quite emotional amongst the crowd united in one peaceful cause. Walking back through Kings Cross Station I came across a periscope, part of a poetry initiative which allows us to listen to a selection of poetry selected from 30 European cultures to highlight the importance of acknowledging our own feelings. The old style wall advert of Scales and Weights is outside the station towards Grays Inn Road.
Later in the month we were tasked with composition techniques. I turn to my collection of photos taken during my recent trip to Malta and Gozo last January to piece together a collection of Fill the Frame, Repetition and Diagonal!
